MAY TUESDAY CLUB
1. Trace templates on matte side of freezer paper. Cut out templates on the pencil line.

2. Iron papers onto wrong side of corresponding fabrics.

3. Cut out each piece leaving an 1/8" seam allowance

4. Choose one of the following options for the next step.

Option 1: Hand baste raw edges around the edges of the paper templates. Skip Step 6.

Option 2: Put tiny dots of glue around the paper edge. Use a toothpick to turn and paste the fabric around the paper's edge. Press.

5. Layer the smallest oval on the larger one. Appliqué in place.

6. Wet two washcloths. Wring out and place on table. Put appliquéd piece between the cloths to dampen it. This will make removing the freezer paper easier.

7. Trim away back fabric about 1/4" inside the sewing line. Carefully remove the paper.

8. Now layer the ovals onto the flower itself. Repeat the process with each appliquéd piece.

9. Pin all the pieces in place. Make a stem and tuck it under the tip flower and basket edge.

10. Appliqué and trim each piece. Finish with embroidered stems, stamens and leaf lines.
